MI STUDENT AID - TOOLKIT

All Michigan high school seniors can be considered for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship, which provide financial assistance for community college, public or private university and career training. No matter what postsecondary path a student chooses, there is scholarship money available to them!

  • Through the Community College Guarantee, students could get a tuition-free associate degree. They could also later transfer to a four-year university and work toward their bachelor’s degree.

  • Through the Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship, students could qualify for up to $4,000 for a career training program.

  • Through the Michigan Achievement Scholarship, students could receive up to $27,500 toward their bachelor’s degree at a four-year public or private university.

Students become eligible for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship simply by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

MI Student Aid is partnering with scholastic engagement company DistrictWON to promote awareness of these exceptional opportunities. This toolkit makes it possible for schools to communicate about the Michigan Achievement Scholarship in numerous ways.

The toolkit includes:

  • Counselor presentations
  • Morning announcement PA scripts
  • Live sporting event PA script
  • “Cut & paste” email template to send details to parents
  • Printable flyer
  • Newsletter content

We encourage schools to use as many elements as possible. As a first step, we suggest printing the PA scripts and the flyer for immediate use within the school.
